Douglas left rueing sluggish start
Argon technologies took to the skies for the first of 3 consecutive away games on Saturday against Anselmians but unfortunately came up just short losing 33 - 27
The game did not start well for Douglas and within 20 minutes they were 17 - 0 down. Douglas battled a way back through a Scott Goodall try which was converted by Snellgrove and followed up by a penalty. Anselmians however replied themselves and went into the break with a 27 - 10 and Douglas looked to be struggling.
The second half was a totally different affair and despite Nick Huge and Lance Wyllie receiving yellow cards they dominated the second period. Ryan Maddox and Bryn Snellgrove scored tries and one was converted leaving the scores at 27 -22 and Douglas had clawed their way back. The home side had lost the composure and Douglas were harassing them all over the park. However some over exuberance allowed Anselmians to kick 2 penalties and stretch their lead to 33 - 22.
Douglas were now chasing the game knowing one more try would bag them a bonus point and maybe a second bonus for being within 7 points. This came when Liam king was set free on his wing and scored in the corner. Unfortunately the conversion was missed and the score stayed at 33 - 27.
Douglas were naturally disappointed with the loss but took great heart after battling back in the second period and grabbing what could be 2 vital bonus points and remain 2nd in the table. Douglas know they were not too far off, had they been a little more composed in the first 20 it would have been a totally different game. But onwards and upwards as Douglas travel to Manchester next week hoping to bounce back in style.
